A very serious student and a poet (Larissa) who is caught up in events of loving a very disciplined and 'one of a kind' type of guy (Don). As a public figure, Don is faced with the challenge of having lots of admirers but definitely knows what he wants. His introduction into the Soul Talkers contest by Larissa is the beginning of the 'acquaintance adventure' but another lady (Rachael) is there to capture him.
As they approach the final stages of the contests, relationships between these three become more dramatic which are even more complicated by Rachael's circus of Men (her ex: Chamberlain and her admirer: Mahmud). The circle continues and just in the right time when Don's Heart desire is going in one direction towards Larissa, a twist occurred and love becomes hate with Rachael now on the advantage side.
Switching directions makes him realize who he really wants to be with and with the finals of the soul talkers competition at stake, the two ladies stand a chance to lose something or even lose everything.
The story is well crafted into poems as the representation of some Life's endeavors are depicted in and through poetry. The creativity in combining drama, campus Life, Football and poetry all in one story makes it unique, overwhelming and beyond words. The Soul Talkers glorifies two major London Football clubs (Arsenal Football Club and Chelsea Football Club) which is good for a global fan base of more than 300 Million people supporting them. It also stimulates world peace as the Arabian character (Mahmud) has the qualities of being brilliant, smart, calm, loving and a matured Poet. This is targeted at appreciating the Arab World which has for a long time been a villain in times of global crisis and terrorism. The Soul Talkers is a story to read and the satisfaction you get from its never ending refreshing taste is simply 'out of this world' and beyond words.
On the 14th of June 2004, Funom Makama began writing a story with a movie script in mind. Though the story was nothing compared to a screenplay in format, but his suggestions, perspective in giving illustrations clearly suggests it as a movie script. He named it "Holding a Lady" and on the 16th of July, 2004, the story was completed in writing.
Holding a lady was a write up about a lady who is very beautiful, brilliant and intelligent. She was brought up from a very wealthy family and due to a bad experience with some black robbers, she grew up hating black Men. Her name is Rachael Smith, a lady full of herself and extremely selfish. She hardly care about the affairs of others and so egocentric to her male folks. Due to all these qualities of hers, she broke up with a very nice guy (Michael) who never gave up on her. Her final year in the tertiary institution became so dramatic which was greatly due to the fact, she coincidentally gained some acquaintance with a black guy who is well respected and of high reputation in the University. And with time, she fell in love with him which even made the whole situation complicated. On the other hand, the black guy (Don Cooker) was trying to show her another side of Life (making her a better person) and when she did, he encouraged her to go back to Michael, which was a shocker and an extremely heart breaking experience. But finally, she did and was grateful to Don for it.
Funom Makama re-wrote this story over a year later and it took him exactly a month to complete it (21st. November. 2005 to 21st. December. 2005). This re-write included more scenes and modified some others, still retaining the name "Holding a Lady"
Don Cooker: Main Character
Rachael Smith: Don Cooker's closest friend
Lucy, Mina and Janet: Rachael's beautiful and lovely friends, of which Janet is black.
Michael James: Rachael's one time ex-boyfriend and subsequently her boyfriend.
Winslet Davis: Lucy's boyfriend
Mike Goldberg: Janet's boyfriend
Dr. Bedford Luke: A very short lecturer
Mr. Williams Jackson: A strict lecturer and also the university football coach
Macmillan Woods: A good footballer
Paul: A friend to Don Cooker
Three girls: Classmates to Rachael
Harry, Richard, Donald and Iyke: Don's rivals.
Five boys: Two engineering students and three law students who argued in Rachael's class
Funom Makama, took along with him this manuscript everywhere he goes, during his cambridge 'A' levels program, during his first undergraduate study program in Bingham University and even when he finally came to Ukraine to study Medicine. As he changed places, he got more exposure and experiences and this began to change his perspective towards the storyline of "Holding a Lady". On the 13th of July, 2008, Funom constructed his first ever Poem. Surprisingly, it subsequently turned out not to be his first poem ever as a letter of forgiveness from the "Holding a Lady" Manuscript was later converted to a Poem.
As of 2011, Funom began writing Poems on one of his article directories (wikinut) and by the summer of 2012, he had the idea of smartly crafting in his poems into the story and this idea alone changed the story line significantly. After setting the architecture of the story and re-organizing it with an entirely new, more matured and more exposed perspective to Life, he decided to name it "The Soul Talkers" accrediting an annual poetry contest. One of the major changes of the two story lines is the site of move/story. "Holding a Lady" has an American background, specifically California while "The Soul Talkers" is based on a story in the city of London with real London Football clubs glorified in it. The characters in "The Soul Talker" are as follows:
Larissa Banta: Main supporting character
Don Cooker: The White Man; blameless Philosopher
Rachael Smith: Dirty Diana and Larissa's Rival
Chamberlain Freeman: Pontius Pilate (the weird, troublesome but photographic-brained ex-boy friend to Rachael).
Mahmud Mustapha: The Arabian Student
Amina Mustapha: Mahmud's Sister
Batarro: Paul, the American (Don's Flat mate).
Virus: Kelvin, the South Korean (Don's second flat mate)
Queen Princewill: Rachael's friend (The American)
Vladislava Victor: Rachael's second friend (The Ukrainian slim beauty).
Angel Whitebread: Rachael's third friend.
Mrs Cooker: Don's Mother
Mr Banta: Larissa's Father
Mrs Banta: Larissa's Mother
Mrs Cooker: Don's Mother
Albion and Amber: The 13 year Olds younger twin siblings to Larissa.

HOLDING A LADY
Mr Robort Smith is well known in California. He owns two car companies and a refinery in America. Though a big Man flourishing in luxury, he is yet very humble and gentle. Outside his office, he does everything a simple man would always do and the most interesting thing is that his busy schedule does not interrupt his passionate relationship with his family.
Popularly known as Mr. R Smith, he is married to Mrs Benedicta Smith and they both have a daughter called Rachael Smith. At 6, Rachael Smith was in her father's Castle playing a computer game when armed robbers broke into the house. Her Dad was around and every one in the house including the house maids and gardeners were ordered to lay flat on the floor. Poor Rachael stood watching in tears as her Father was molested by the heavily armed 'domestic terrorists'. But as she cried, she noticed that the six men, though thoroughly covered and masked, were blacks. She could see their black wrist which was quiet obvious in their whole covered arms.
At 11, Rachael was going out with her parents on a wonderful picnic in a cool evening when suddenly a vehicle from behind hit theirs. Her father stopped to see what was happening and immediately he came out, two black guys held his throat furiously, throwing the blame at him. In confusion, Mrs. Benedicta came out to justify the situation but they were furious the more.
"You gotta pay ass hole or we blow off your damn mother-fucking white head" One of them said. The second guy brought out a gun saying "we need one thousand box right now or consider your family extinct". Rachael was in the car, starring at the two guys with great contempt. Her mother was already pleading with tears, to her husband to give them whatever they wanted. Mr. Smith gave them the money and they reversed with great speed, leaving the family in shock and fear.
These two experiences, Rachael had, made her hate any black guy she come across, having a jaundiced eye towards them not until she met Don Cooker.
The Amateur Poetry Contest (Just a Part of It)
Mahmud: "I really love this. As we can see the two contestants have recited their poems. We will know the winners by response from the crowd. If you are for Arsenal, say Yeah ["Yeah" is the response, mostly from the Arsenal supporters]. If you aren't for Arsenal say Nay ["Nay" is the response from the Chelsea side]. Okay, if you are for Chelsea, say Yeah ["yeah" in almost the same magnitude as the first is produced from Chelsea supporters] and if you are against, say Nay ["Nay" which is almost in the same magnitude to the first is produced from the Arsenal supporters]. Goodness! This is definitely a tie [the whole crowd respond with a boo]. Okay, ladies and gentlemen. Our contestants will recite one more poem each, but this time, not about their clubs. Just anything and I will be the one to Judge, Agreed? [A mixture of "Yeah" and "Nay" is the response but the "Yeah" overshadows the "Nay", so the decision stands]. Since we never had the plan for an immediate re-match, we will still stick to the initial agreement, Don, you have to go first"
Don: [Takes the Mic and becomes silent for about 2 minutes with the premise in complete silence, then he starts]. "I title this Poem, 'A scorner but a Mourner'
Where else do you want to mock me? [Facing Pontius]
That my Sister is a Whore?
And she owns miserable men under her Lure?
Or is it that I have intense body Odour?
Maybe you will taunt the clothes I once wore
which you already tore.
So, what else is it? That I snore?
Or that a drunkard is my Family's Core?
Is there anything more?
Or something laughable you really saw?
Perhaps, you just realize I'm poor?
Please anymore flaw?
If you're bitter, it isn't my fault
don't use me as the Salt on your wounds.
I know, I stimulate the stretching of your Catapult
and my smile makes you want to join a Cult
Even with the Insult,
never forget that I'm mere Human
who can halt; despite not giving a damn
just to make you understand
that I'm simply a friend- Chamberlain Freeman!. "
The Bar seems to be a graveyard with everyone speechless as Pontius stares at Don who has stretched forth his hands for a warm handshake of friendship. Everyone is eager to see what Pontius would do and Mahmud also watches in curiosity. Then, Pontius shakes hands with Don and this time, the Noise which erupts from the cheers and standing ovation attracts some outsiders. Then they embrace each other
Pontius: [While still embracing Don] "Stick to calling me Chamberlain, okay!"

After printing the sample Novel and distributing to 40 friends, he got a positive review and decided not to wait for the fate of the screenplay version but rather publish it as a Play/Novel. He chose FeedAread as he intends self publishing his Novel. Then as from the 13th of April till the 15th, he began writing two extra chapters, making it a total of 15 chapters from the initial 13 in the main manuscript. The two added chapters are:

Funom Makama is also a public speaker, giving presentations and Lectures in seminars, workshops, symposiums and even in large events as large as conferences. After being exposed to public speaking by his god-Mother: Mrs. Amina Kashua in a Children's programme, Funom Makama began a wonderful journey in public speaking. One of the places He has exhibited this is FCS, Ternopil Ukraine, where he has presented practical christian living seminars and one of which is 'The Biblical Love Psychology"
On the 31st of January, 2012 He did a 90 minutes presentation on this topic and he repeated it again in two episodes on the 3rd and 10th of February, 2013. Considering its impact and how blessed the congregation is, he decided to share such love psychology of which he did on his wikinut profile and then a year later on his hubpages profile, then transferred them to his Infobarrel profile.
Still not satisfied, he decided to publish its book, lifting more than 95% material from his hubpages article-series on the same issue. After series of additions, subtractions, research and edition, the book was finally published on the 9th of May, 2013 by FeedAread publishers.
Here is a part of his preface to stimulate you to read this wonderful book
The essence of this Book's publication is to increase its horizons and effect to reaching out to as many as need this teaching and simple Truth. Not just through articles, but also through book publications.
We can learn and adopt the principles revealed here and If possible acknowledge the faith (Christianity) of which these principles are derived from.
So, as we carefully go through this rare, fascinating but needed form of psychology, I do hope the Lord, God almighty will open our minds and reveal to us the amazing beauty and power of Love and also help us share in its wonder.
Love as an issue or topic is one of the most talked, discussed, appreciated, feared and controversial in our contemporary world of today. But is love really controversial? We will find out. Is love wicked as some people say? Does love hurt? Can we fall in love with more than one person? Can or should we love Material things? What about Loving Animals? Is love really blind? If it is, can I fall in love with my eyes Open? Sex and falling in Love, do they go hand in hand? All these questions would be answered one way or the other, directly or indirectly in this Book.
Biblical Love Psychology is the product of the understanding of the word of God from the Bible and as well the practical application of its Psychology; hence it is easily applicable and understandable irrespective of your belief. Lots of emphasis hits on Love itself, breaking it down into its stages, forms and levels and trying to differentiate these various stages of Love as distinct units. Take for instance, Love can be viewed in two categories, the horizontal (Man to man) and the vertical (God to man) and we will understand that The horizontal (Man to Man) exists with an initial step: THE ATTRACTION! But the vertical has no attraction in its initial phase because God loved us while we were yet sinners, doomed to die. This attraction could be blood (blood relations), romance (eros) or compatibility in likeness (Phileo-friendship).
This Book has explained explicitly the significance of the attraction, independent of Love (despite going hand in hand). It did not stop there, it is vivid in elaborating Love itself which is a deeper level and a soul to soul connect which is in by no means same as the initial step (the attraction). Despite all these wonderful revelations about Love, why do we have failed relationships today? Why are marriages not lasting up to 30 years as it used to be? Why do parents disown their children? Why are relationships so shallow, insignificant and treated like high-school courses where they come and go? A typical or an average young lady in her mid-20s should have experienced a minimum of 7 failed relationships in her life, is this supposed to be so? What about Love application to other phenomena such as material things, Money, Animals, what can we say about this? Despite the vertical kind of Love (God to man) being the AGAPE Love, does that mean man cannot exhibit this Agape? When a person adopts a child, this has definitely by-passed any form of attraction, because despite not being their blood (the attraction), the person adopts and loves this child, can we consider this Agape?
All these questions will be thoroughly answered and as well some doctrinal controversies such as: the doctrine of Hell (is it necessary since God loved us without any form of attraction?), the doctrine of the trinity, and the justification of disowning a child from the fact there is Hell, despite (God) showing us such immense love and many more issues.
So, as much as this basic psychological issue of Love is coming from the foundation of the Bible, it is applicable to everyone. I may not believe in Buddhism, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying any Buddhist Movie and even learn from it. There are lots of principles we can apply from this book into our love-relationships irrespective of our beliefs, so try to read it.
On a final note, we should be cautioned that this Book is not a relationship manual. This is far from it. This book is about Love and solely about Love, of which if we understand its basic principles can be applied to any form of relationships. Psychological tools like the Love graph, the perfect square formula are used to explicitly elaborate Love Psychology. Also, science is brought into the picture for us, to a large extent use critical thinking for the justification of the existence of God. If somewhere in our subconscious we believe in His existence, then we will appreciate the Agape Love better.
I hope you enjoy it and as you read, God will fill you with His understanding to fully appreciate what He is about to reveal to us all."
